For 175 years this Charity has been in the business of preventing cruelty to animals and the relief of their suffering.

It is our experience that many incidents of cruelty stem from a lack of awareness of the specific needs of the different types of companion animals. They are kept in unsuitable accomodation, not fed the correct diet, given inadequate exercise and brought to a vet when things go hopelessly wrong. Animal shelters across the province are full of animals bought through ignorance or impulse.

The USPCA believes in the adage which states ‘prevention is better than a cure’. If we can instill in children a respect for animals, an understanding of diversity and the need for knowledge before purchasing a pet, we will prevent the ill informed cruelty that shortens the lives of many pets.

The formal setting of the classroom is not conducive to getting our message across successfully and we have turned to Philip Brown and his animals to assist us in this regard, the physical contact he affords and an explanation of their needs can be a life changing event for many children in urban communities.

The USPCA appreciate the valuable work carried on by Phil’s Farm and we will continue to use his services in the interests of animals.

We booked Phils Farm for our Summer Fun Day at Cranfield this year and I have to say we were not disappointed. The kids just loved being up close and personal with the animals! Amazed at the size of that rabbit and he was so cool about the whole hussle and bussle of the day!! Thanks to George for great customer service! Well done guys! Will defo book again and bring the wee pigs next time…x HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Cranfield Shores Caravan Club

We had Phil and his animals visit our nursery school for the first time during the last school year. It was the highlight of the year for the children and staff! Phil obviously loves what he does and is excellent with the children – so patient and enthusiastic – nothing is too much trouble. We will certainly be inviting him back this year. We invited Phil’s Farm to our Family Fun Day at Harmony Hill Primary School in June this year and found it to be the highlight of the day! The children were able to interact with all animals and Philip and his team were so informative and patient with the children creating a relaxed atmosphere around the animals!

“First heard of Phils farm through another community group.
When I connected Phil and he said yes to bringing his farm to our fun day in Dixon Park, all I can say is what a great success this was.

Phil and his helpers had no problem spending time with kids and indeed the adults explaining names of animals. And I for one will be useing Phils farm again and have passed on the name of the farm to other group.

Just think to see a kids little face when they can look at a goats rabbits a shetland pony wallaby in the flesh.

Hi, we had Phils farm out to our nursery and summer camp, and it was just great, Phil is really good with the children and the animals you took were just perfect for the different age ranges.
